· How do you come to terms with being the most popular politician in the Czech Republic and how do you see the dangers of any possible loss?
I hope popularity has not drowned me in madness yet. I am not sort of politician who can build up something called“powerful basis“. That is why having the confidence of ordinary people is the most important thing for me, that is what I can rely on when enforcing something. I dwfinitely do not make my decisions based on calculating , if it increases my popularity or not. Regarding any possible loss/there are few things I would definitely miss a lot.
· You are well known for the promotion of the equality of women in society thoroughly. Do you think you have succeded in developing this idea? I do not want the equality of women in their posicion within society, but equality of chances. Women had learned to men during the hard period of comumunist regime. I can even say that they are better off than for example American women. Higher female proportion in unemployment, lower wages than men for the same work done, generally worse paid in so called feminized branches. These are the facts a society must care about.
· You are a mother: What do you feel about the the increasingly dangerous environment for the yonfg generation(drugs, crime violence, etc.)?
Of course I am afraid. As every parent I do my best to create the best conditions for Aniźka, to learn how to cope with all the traps wold has. At some time she is going to be on her own, she herself will have to face failure and nobody can do it instead of her, ne parents´ care can secure a child from getting a problem that might have long-term negative affects an him. I do not think it hleps to keep young people in a disinfected greenhouse.
· What do you see in world globalization and how an it endanger yong coutries?
I think it is a mistake to look at glogalization firstly as something dangerous. I am fully aware of the fact, that small coutry can be rolled over by a global process, that it will roll over it simply because a country it is too small even to beseen. On the other hand it is a great oportunity not to live in a a forbidden province. As was said by Buckhard at the end of last century, a small country is an excellent opportunity to preserve a free society. I think this statement is still valid in the present globalized world.
· What role do you think the main unit of a society-a family-can play in such a globalized world?
I am not a crystal ball fortune-teller. However I would say that it will be the same as befofore. It will be the same as before. It will be a secure place where two pople can bring their children up, to be strong enough to cope with all the possibilities and danger outside their home.
· Can you imagine your life without politics?
Quite easily. And there are many moments in my life , when this idea seems to be very attractive for me. I have my civil employment position and I have always loved advocacy.
· Do you also think, that we have great reserves in building up civilian society and according to your opinion how can creation of civilian struktures affect state politics?
The problem with civilian society is that it can not be built. It can only cultivate land and water growing plants. There is also nothong wrong in occasional state financial contribution. The most important thing is to defend it against saboteurs. To say it non-politically: to create clear and transparent legislation, so that it is not possible to accuse foundation does not arange an unemployment fee for someone at a kindergarden for no wage.
· Is there a boundary that you would not go over?
For example the boundries of some fundamental Muslim countries. But that is not what you meant. All of us have naturally thousands of such moral barriers and there is no point in listing all of them here.
